Two local youth compete in fishing open

Two local fishing youth, Hunter Alexander and Dalton Eury, finished second in their first FLW High School Open, recently at Clarks Hill Lake in Georgia.
Alexander is an 8th-grader at China Grove Middle School, while Eury is a home-schooler in Stanly County. They had a total of five fish, weighing in at 12 pounds, 9 ounces. Alexander and Eury lost to a local team from Georgia.
Alexander caught the big fish for the tournament, weighing 5 pounds, 11 ounces.
Both boys represent the ROCO Fishing League.
Clarks Hill Lake is northwest of Augusta, Ga., just over the South Carolina state line. The lake is fed by the Savannah River.
