Sun Rising in the West: the Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbor & Hickam Field

On Tuesday, the Stanback Room of the Rowan Public Library, at 201 W.Fisher St., will host a “Victory 45” celebratory lecture at 7 p.m.
J. Michael Winger, noted historian and author of several books, will speak on the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

This is second lecture for “Victory 45,” an eight-month long celebration of the end of World War II in 1945, is hosted by the Rowan Museum and the Edith Clark History Room of the Rowan Public Library.

Aaron Kepley, Executive Director of Rowan Museum states, “’Victory 45’ is an exciting way to engage with the local community to learn more about World War II through lectures and sharing local stories. The museum and the Edith Clark History Room are excited to bring Pearl Harbor expert J. Michael Wenger to give us new insight into ‘the day that will live in infamy.’”

The museum and Edith Clark History Room sponsor various programs to educate the community on our local history.
