SALISBURY — A Salisbury man faces felony sex offense charges after the victim reported the abuse to a doctor. Salisbury Police say more charges are expected, said Detective Russ DeSantis.

Alejandro Gonzalez Lopez, 44, of the 1400 block of Tall Oaks Circle, was charged on Friday with one count of felony first-degree rape, one count felony indecent liberties with children and one count felony second-degree forcible sex offense. He was issued a $100,000 secured bond and remains in the Rowan County Detention Center.

A relative contacted police, DeSantis said.

The alleged abuse is believed to have occurred in 2016. Detectives said there is another victim who told them she was abused from 2007 to 2014. One victim was 10 at the time of the abuse and the other between 7 and 14 years old. The investigation continues.
