Phoenix Readers to perform free Christmas program Wednesday

The Phoenix Readers, an over-55 readers’ theatre group, will perform its fifth annual Christmas program Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 7:30 p.m., in the Hurley Room of the Rowan Public Library.

This year’s program is “An Immigrant’s Christmas In America,’ consisting of two readings, “An Ellis Island Christmas” and “Angela & the Baby Jesus.”

The Phoenix Readers members are Karl Hales, Mike Cline, Becky Porter, Rebekah Hardison, Nick Bishop, Julie Cline, Buddy Farnan, Ray Davies, Linda Jones, Lori Van Wallendael, Shawn Van Wallendael and Dayna Anderson.

Dr. Jim Epperson is the group’s director.
