High school basketball: East boys coach Misenheimer resigns

Kurt Misenheimer told the Post late Wednesday night that he’s resigned as East Rowan’s head boys basketball coach.

Misenheimer cited personal reasons.

A standout player at East, he was in his fifth season as head coach.

Jayvee coach Eric Mulkey took the reins of the Mustangs for Wednesday’s game at Cox Mill.

East Rowan lost Tuesday at home to North Stanly, 61-54.

Cameron Padgett led East with 14 points. David Jordan scored 12, Jake Hunter had 10, and Landon Shuping had nine.

Koby Poole scored 25 for the Comets (3-2).

East Rowan lost at Cox Mill on Wednesday, 80-42, to fall to 1-7.

Hunter led East with nine points. Shuping, Jordan and Sammy Pinckney scored six each.

Jaquava Propst-Allison led the Chargers (8-1) with 19 points.
