Great Catawba teams hold reunions

Catawba’s 1985 women’s softball team celebrated a reunion during Homecoming festivities last month. The team was 29-16 overall and 13-1 in the Carolinas Conference, winning both the league and NAIA District 26 championships. Nan Whitley coached the team.

Catawba’s 1999 football team celebrated a reunion during Homecoming festivities last month. The team, coached by David Bennett, went 11-2 and was the first team in school history to advance to the NCAA II football playoffs.
