Trading Ford observes 149th anniversary
Trading Ford Baptist Church will be celebrating its 149th anniversary at homecoming this Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. in the worship center/sanctuary. Guest speaker will be Roger Steadman.

Pastor anniversary at Gloria Dei
Sunday is All Saints Sunday.
After the 11 a.m. service, the congregation of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1908 Statesville Blvd., will gather in the fellowship hall to celebrate Pastor John Tucker’s 25th year of ordination. A light luncheon will be served.

Mt. Vernon Presbyterian celebrates 149 years
WOODLEAF — Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church, 435 Carson Road, will observe its 149th anniversary on Sunday during the 11 a.m. service,
Bishop Russell L. Smyre Sr., senior pastor from Harvest United Fellowship, will preach the anniversary sermon. Bishop Smyre holds a bachelor of arts in psychology and Christian counseling and a masters degree in Leadership from Liberty University. He is currently pursuing a PhD in higher educational leadership from North central University.
Lunch will be served after the service. Rev. Otto Gaither is host pastor.

All Saint’s Day at The Arbor
The Arbor UMC will observe All Saint’s Day on Sunday by recognizing all members who died during the past year.
Holy Communion will also be given.
Craig Sefa is host pastor and the church is located at 5545 Woodleaf Road.

Kellam to speak at 25th homecoming service
CONCORD — On Sunday at 3 p.m., Apostle Charlene Kellam of Bethel Power of Faith Ministries will be speaking at New Freedom Holiness Church, 4625 Garden Terrace, where Bishop Tyrone L. Washington Sr. is pastor.

Moore’s Chapel Trustee Program
CLEVELAND — On Sunday at 3 p.m. at Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church, 5890 South River Church Road, Pastor Sharon Smoot of Ambassadors For Jesus Christ Church in Cleveland, will preach.

Twelve Tribes Rally at Cedar Grove
CLEVELAND — The Twelve Tribes Rally at Cedar Grove AME Zion Church, 2430 Hildebrand Road, is Sunday at 3 p.m. Evangelist Cathy Marlin, associate minister of Fairview Heights Baptist Church, will be the speaker.
Rev. Bertha Pittman is host pastor.

SGBC choir celebrates 97 years
EAST SPENCER — Shady Grove Baptist Church, 600 S. Long St., celebrates its 97th Senior Choir Anniversary on Sunday at 3 p.m. with J Soul and God’s Creation, who will sing their newest single, “Dip in the Water” which currently can be heard on some local radio stations.
Also celebrating will be Voices United for Christ, two praise dance groups, and The Anointed Voices of Macedonia Baptist Church in Concord.
There will be finger foods available beginning at 1:45 p.m. while supplies last.
Rev. James A. Ledbetter is host pastor, Shelia Miller is president and Margaret Ingram-Jones is the program chair.

Community supper at Shiloh
GRANITE QUARRY — Shiloh United Methodist Church will host a community spaghetti supper on Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 5:30-6:30 p.m., with spaghetti and sauces, garlic bread and dessert.

Chaplain Education Day
The Center for Chaplaincy at Hood will host its Chaplain Education Day on Nov. 13 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Albert J.D. Aymer Center on the campus at 1810 Lutheran Synod Drive.
Various chaplain disciplines will be represented and will provide brief presentations from 1-2 p.m. Feel free to join us for lunch during the presentations.
Additionally, certified educators will be available to share information regarding Clinical Pastoral Education.
