Henderson Grove celebrates 207 years
The congregation of Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church, organized in 1812, will celebrate its 207th church anniversary on Sunday.
The 11 a.m. speaker is Rev. Perry J. Dye, pastor. Lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m. The 3 p.m. speaker will be Rev. John Geter, pastor of Salem Baptist Church of Lexington.

Anna Anderson day at Southern City
EAST SPENCER — Southern City Church, 940 S Long St., celebrates Anna L. Anderson Day on Sunday at 11 a.m.
The Life Members Council will observe the event during the morning worship service. Pastor Rev. Patrick Tate will bring the message. Several members will receive their Life Members stole. Deloris Foxx serves as the local Life Members Chairperson.

Anniversary at the Grove
CHINA GROVE — Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1205 S. Main St., will celebrate the pastoral anniversary for Rev. Dr. Keith and Sister Tammy Curry on Sunday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The 11 a.m. speaker is Rev. Ann Jordan, associate at Oak Grove; the 3 p.m. speaker will be Rev. Patrick Jones from New Zion Baptist Church.

Mt Zion Missionary pastor appreciation
Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1920 Shirley Ave., will observe the 27th Pastoral Appreciation Celebration of Rev. Dr. Nilous M. Avery II and First Lady Nicole Hill-Avery on Sunday at 11 a.m.
Rev. Dr. Ricky L. Banks, pastor of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist of Elizabeth City, is guest speaker. Dr. Banks is Vice President-at-Large of the General Baptist State Convention of N.C. as well as the immediate past president of the General Baptist State Convention of N.C.
A special presentation will be made during the service honoring Dr. Avery. Music will be rendered by the Mount Zion music ministry. Dinner will be served after the service.

Womens’ Day at First Calvary Baptist
First Calvary Baptist Church, 400 South Long St., celebrates Women’s Day on Sunday at the 11 a.m. service, on the theme of “Women Rooted in Christ.” The speaker is Elder Tara White of Dorsett Chapel UCC, Spencer. Tara graduated from Livingstone College in 1995 where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.
Her first book is titled “Don’t Curse Your Wedding Bed before You Say I Do.” Her newest release is “It Cost to Be the Boss,” a book about leadership in the home, church, and in business.

Women’s Day at Providence
Providence AME Zion Church, 2414 Providence Church Road, hosts a Women’s Day service on Sunday at 11 a.m. with speaker Rev. Clara Tandy on “Women, Mighty Warriors for the Lord. Special music will be by Rebecca Stinson and praise dancing by The Heavenly Steppers.

Homecoming at Immanuel Lutheran
ROCKWELL — Immanuel Lutheran celebrates its 124th year at homecoming on Sunday. The Immanuel Ringers will debut, playing new handbells which will be dedicated by Rev. Bruce Sheeks, pastor. The new addition to the cemetery wall will be dedicated as well. There will be a children’s sermon but no adult sermon as special music will be performed by the Immanuel Chancel Choir and Dr. Rob, music director. Following the service is a covered dish luncheon.

Rainbow Tea Dinner at Rose of Sharon
Rose Of Sharon, 255 Camp Road, hosts a Rainbow Tea dinner on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased from members or pay at the door.

Mt. Vernon Gospel choir celebrates
