St Luke Baptist celebrates 140 years
St Luke Missionary Baptist, 410 Hawkinstown Road, celebrates its 140th Church Anniversary with a weekend of festivities.
The banquet is Friday at 7pm.
On Saturday at 10 a.m. is the groundbreaking ceremony for the family life center. Following that at 11 a.m. is the Fall Festival, where everything is free. There will be vendors, food, music and more.

Speaker will be Cynthia Lee, a native of Reidsville. Mrs Lee retired from RJReynolds and now works in both the family owned child care center ad florist.
Special music will be provided by an all female choir consisting of the women of Jerusalem as well as area churches. The highlight of the program will be announcing the 2019 Women of The Year.

Rev. Anita Michelle Morgan-Frencher a native of Pope, Mis., will be the 3 p.m. speaker. She holds a bachelor of science degree in social work and is currently employed as a school social worker with the Guilford County School System in Greensboro.

Women’s Day at New Hope AME Zion
SPENCER — New Hope AME Zion Church will observe Women’s Day on Sunday at 3 p.m. with speaker Rev. Monell Blackmon. In her younger years, she quit her job to take care of her nephew who had become bed ridden. He was later miraculously healed and made a full recovery. She is the associate minister and a lifelong member of Zion Wesley in Mt. Pleasant. Rev. Dr. Debra J. Hall is host pastor.

World of Faith musical program

• Give a love offering to help purchase beds for a child receiving Child Protective or Foster Care Services;
• Help us find foster homes for children placed out of county and adoptive homes for four children waiting for a forever home.
