Sacred Heart Catholic School held its annual Blessing of the Animals on Friday during a morning assembly.

Dogs, puppies, cats, chickens, a Madagascar cockroach and a bearded dragon participated. Some animals did tricks for their blessing.

Father John Eckert said he enjoys the annual blessing in honor of the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and ecology.
