SALISBURY — The Pedal Factory will sponsor an OctoberTour preview ride at 4 p.m. Sunday in downtown Salisbury. Those participating should meet at the bicycle shop at 311 E. Council St.
The cyclists’ route will go through Salisbury’s historic neighborhoods and showcase featured houses on this year’s tour of homes. The ride is free and is family- and beginner-friendly, organizers say.
Taken at a comfortable pace, the ride will be mostly on quiet streets with plenty of stops along the way.
Bike rentals are available for $5. Tickets to OctoberTour, which is Oct. 12-13, will be available for purchase after the ride.
At 11 a.m. Oct. 13, the Pedal Factory will host the popular Tweed Ride, also showcasing some of the homes and neighborhoods on OctoberTour.
Participants are encouraged to dress in vintage clothing while taking to the streets in their favorite old cruisers.
The free Tweed Ride will begin at 11 a.m. at the Pedal Factory and follow an easy route past some of the featured homes. Again, bike rentals will be available for $5.
