EAST SPENCER — The town of East Spencer will host its first music festival featuring local musicians.

The Southern Music Festival will feature music, food trucks and vendors, and local artisan and craft vendors. The festival will be from 1 to 9 p.m. next Saturday near Town Hall, located at 105 S. Long St.

The musical line up includes:

• Destiny Stone, 5 p.m.

• Livehouse Music, 6 p.m.

• Jazz Revolution Band, 7-9 p.m.

Stone is a local singer and songwriter who performs a mixture of gospel, blues, jazz, and soul. She has performed in local and regional venues as well as across the Southeast.

Jazz Revolution Band performs a blend of jazz and soul music. The Charlotte-based band is a six-piece jazz ensemble that plays jazz standards, classic R&B, and progressive soul.

Livehouse is a Salisbury-based dance music band that also plays jazz, country and rock.

The festival is sponsored by Fast Stop, Miller Davis, Rowan County, Novant Health, the town of East Spencer, F&M Bank, Rowan Arts Council and Joe Morris.

“This event is to bring some life to the East Spencer area and not just East Spencer but Rowan County period,” said East Spencer Alderman Tony Hillian, an organizer of the festival.
