SALISBURY– The Rowan County Fair continues through Saturday with rides, competitions, dairy goat shows, magic acts, and more on the schedule.

On Sunday, fairgoers were treated to the Lazy 5 Petting Zoo, Arial Acrobatics Show, and NOJOE and TooT’s Clown Circus.

Sherri Arms, marketer with Clearwater Concepts, a vendor that provides water solutions and tests water sources for impurities, said the company is offering free water tests to anyone interested for the remainder of the week.

Charles and Joy Nagy, of Gospelway Baptist Church in Salisbury, said the church became “official” this month. They, too, were enjoying the fair.

“It’s nice, and it’s a good opportunity for the church and others out in the community, such as outreach programs, to get their information out,”said Charles Nagy.

“We’re a new church, and we’re trying to get the word out. We want to make sure that people hear the gospel and respond to it,” said Charles Nagy, a deacon and assistant treasurer at Gospelway.

Joy Nagy said she was looking forward to seeing her “little ones” who will be participating in the fair and the food that was available at the fair Sunday.

Glenda Carlisle said she loves the fair.

“I have enjoyed being out here. There are a lot of different food options, and the staff here have been very helpful,” Carlisle said.

Displays include photography, paintings, furnishings, arts and crafts, canvas paintings, baked goods, vegetables, fruit, clothing, blankets, and decor.

The East Rowan High School Future Farmers of America, Rowan Public Library, and Rowan County Soil and Water Conservation District also had displays.

The Rowan County Fair, located at 1560 Julian Road, is scheduled through Saturday.
