Biz Roundup: Rowan Chamber’s Minority Business Council announces fall programs

SALISBURY – The Rowan Chamber of Commerce’s Minority Business Council has announced its fall schedule of speakers.

Programs are held at 9 a.m. Tuesdays and include:

• Sept. 17: Holly Pore, career and technical education director for Rowan-Salisbury Schools.

• Oct. 15: Michelle Bailey of Ambitiouz Minds.

• Nov. 19: Jonell Jaime Logan, national director of the League of Creative Interventionists.

• Dec. 17: An inspirational speaker.

The Minority Business Council meets at the Gateway Building, 204 E. Innes St. It is open to any minority-owned or -operated business in the region. There is no fee to attend, but reservations are required in advance of the program date.

The goal of the council is to help minority businesses grow and prosper. The Rowan Chamber coordinates meetings, seminars and networking events. The city of Salisbury is a co-sponsor of the program. Rowan-Cabarrus Community College’s Small Business Center, Livingstone College and the Rowan IDEA Center also provide support.

The Minority Business Council was organized in 2016 by a group of local minority business leaders. Elia Gegorek, of Gegorek & Associates Realty, chairs the council.
