Rowan girls win softball world series

PORTLAND, Ore. — Rowan County scored early and pitching ace Campbell Schaen took it from there, defeating Louisiana, 4-1, Wednesday night in the Little League Softball World Series championship game.
The title is Rowan Little League’s second world championship in four trips to Portland. The 2015 team, also under the direction of manager Steve Yang, won it all as well.
Teams in 2016 and 2017 went to Portland but came up short in the World Series. The 2018 squad lost in the regional tournament in Georgia.
