Sigmas of Salisbury work in the community

The fraternity also fed the children pizza and light refreshments.

 

The members of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated with the local chapter Sigma’s of Salisbury adopted Essie Mae Kiser Foxx Charter School and donated 40 backpacks for the first day of class.

 

Phi Beta Sigma fraternity has several national program with one being Education, the local chapter voted on adopting the new charter school. Once the school day ended the fraternity feed the children pizza light refreshments from Domino’s pizza.

 

The local chapter will be volunteering throughout the next three years with programs that fall under the fraternity umbrella of Education program. Essie’s School promotes academic excellence and cultivate confident, lifelong learners and leaders. The school also develop the unique gifts and talents of each student by nurturing curiosity and fostering creative and critical thinking skills.

 

Essie Mae Kiser Foxx Charter School, also known as “Essie’s School,” is named for the late Essie Mae Kiser Foxx, a prominent community leader in East Spencer, NC. The school is a community-centric school of choice a free public school that is open for grades kindergarten to the fourth grade.
