I really take offense to W.L. Pooles letter published Thursday (“Trump should have been awarded medal, too”) that President Donald Trump should be awarded a medal for accepting deferments to serve in the military.

For one thing it was tactless to include this in the same article with the award of this country’s highest honor to one of our heroes.

Another thing: To my knowledge there has never been a mention of Clinton or Obama not serving. If there was, it was not in a negative way. Spoken like a true left-winger, Mr. Poole.
