Letter: Hurley Park made time in Salisbury special

Published 12:00 am Sunday, July 7, 2019

My husband and I had reason to be in Salisbury for three nights (June 29 – July 2) last week for evening events.

We stayed at a chain hotel with our two dogs who needed walks twice daily. A little online research introduced us to the lovely Hurley Park. This oasis of calm, beauty and quiet is a gem in your fine city. The plenty of dog station supplies (thank you), clean property, clear paths and refreshing flora made “daily walks” the highlight of our stay. The extraordinary shade was a blessing on those hot days.

We shared our experience with other hotel guests and saw them on one of our walks. Thank you for maintaining this legacy park. It is a unique city treasure that provides respite in this busy world. For us, it created a fond memory.
