LANDIS — The Landis Board of Aldermen will consider a contract with a consultant on zoning and planning when it meets at 7 p.m. Monday at 312 S. Main St.
The board will consider a contract with N-Focus for the 2019-20 fiscal year. N-Focus provides services for municipalities to assist with zoning, planning, mapping technology and code enforcement. Landis currently has a contract with the Kannapolis-based company, and this would be a renewal.
The aldermen will also discuss a request from Landis Baptist Church to temporarily close several streets. The church wants to close the section of North Kimmons Street between West Ryder Avenue and East Garden Street from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday for vacation Bible school.
Residents are reminded that if they want to speak during the public-comment period, they should sign up before the start of the meeting. Residents will have three minutes each to comment.
The board and staff will not be able to discuss the ongoing State Bureau of Investigation probe into possible embezzlement by two former town employees, town officials say.
The meeting will be live-streamed on the town’s YouTube channel, called Landis NC Live.
