Letter: Two issues about ‘Fame’ need addressing

Published 12:00 am Sunday, June 30, 2019

I’ve heard and read all the reasons for moving “Fame.” Most of these problems were never voiced before it was vandalized by unknown instigators. I  wish to address two issues.

The first is where to place the blame if a Charlottesville-like attack should happen, heaven forbid. I believe the blame would be found with the TV reporting of the meeting provided and those who inflamed current passions over history that cannot be changed.

The other is moving a lynching monument in Alabama to the other end of the median, thereby providing another target for vandalism. This would also cause pain to the descendants of the families involved in a remembered local event.

This is the wrong and ineffective way to change hearts and minds.
