Sens. Richard Burr and Thom Tillis must take actionable steps to immediately stop the inhumane treatment of the immigrant children who are being held in unsanitary and unconscionable conditions.

Would Burr and Tillis be willing to live in this environment for a mere 24 hours to prove the children are being provided the most basic human needs for health and safety?

Actually, the most basic need that is not being met is that of human connection. Families have been torn apart and lives have been destroyed, all for the sake of negotiating a wall?

I urge my elected officials to display their humanity by standing up and demanding immediate attention, funding and reunification at the very least, for the children if not simply for doing what is the just and right thing to do.
