CONCORD — The 65-voice Piedmont Choral Society will present its annual series of free Patriotic concerts. The full run of the annual All Patriotic Music Concert Series is scheduled for June 20, 21 and 23.

The Thursday event will be a benefit concert for the Concord-based non-profit Jason Ray Foundation, which supports organ transplants and organ donations. JRF was established in memory of Jason Ray, a Concord resident (UNC-Chapel Hill senior and proud mascot Rameses for the University) who was involved in a fatal accident in March 2007.

To honor Jason’s desire and decision to become an organ donor, his parents, Emmitt and Charlotte Ray, enabled 118 people to receive his organs and tissue. Some were given a second chance in life.
Jason’s selfless act led his parents to organize the JRF and dedicate their lives to the education and advocacy of organ donations and transplants.

In April 2016, UNC Hospitals recognized and celebrated by changing the name of its transplant clinic to UNC Hospitals Jason Ray Transplant Clinic in honor of Jason.

PCS is proud to support this organization. For more info on PCS and all their events, find them on Facebook, www.piedmontchoralsociety.org, or 704-699-6053.
