SPENCER — The N.C. Museum of Dolls, Toys and Miniatures is giving away a dollhouse this weekend as part of its annual appraisal fair and yard sale.

The fair and sale will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The giveaway will be at 4 p.m. Saturday. Anyone visiting the museum this weekend can enter the contest. There’s no purchase necessary.

The celebration marks the museum’s  seventh birthday.

On Friday, the museum will serve birthday cake during the biannual celebration.

When Meg Love, who lives in Wilmington, heard about the birthday celebration, she decided to donate the house to “someone special, someone who will treasure the dollhouse and will keep it intact.”

“You can’t have a birthday party without a present,” Love said.

The hand-crafted dollhouse has been displayed at the museum for several years.

Michael Hansen, from Concord, will be present from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday to appraise treasures and attic finds. Hansen has been an antiques dealer for nearly 50 years and is a certified appraiser.

For those looking for a treasure, the museum will have a backroom full of antique, vintage and modern dolls and toys for sale.

The museum is at 108 Fourth St. in Spencer.
