Sunday’s games

Concord 14, Mocksville 7

Concord (6-4, 2-0) took advantage of 13 walks to beat Mocksville in a Southern Division game played at Mount Pleasant High.

Maven Parker’s grand slam in the fifth inning broke a 7-all tie and propelled Concord to victory.

RJ Coard scored five runs and drove in two for Concord. Ick Cirino drew four walks and scored three runs. Jake Rowden knocked in two runs.

Evan McGee was the winning pitcher in relief. He struck out six in 2 2/3 innings.

Mocksville (4-9, 0-2) had nine hits, with Patrick Usher and Hunter Meacham getting two each.

 

Davidson County 11, Greensboro 5

Davidson County pounded 13 hits and cashed in on six errors to beat Greensboro in a Northern Division game played at Eastern Guilford High.

Carson Simpson, Jake Brown, Zack Cates, Noah Coleman, Drew Rabon and Taylor Stewart all had two hits for Post 8 (6-3, 1-0).

Cameron Edmonds homered for Greensboro (2-7, 0-4).

 

Stanly County 11, Kannapolis 4

Stanly led all the way and breezed to a victory at Northwest Cabarrus High.

Stanly (9-2) had 14 hits and didn’t make an error in a game that won’t count in the division standings.

Cody Kidd and Jack Foley homered for Stanly.

Lukas Scott and Trent Wilson went 3-for-3.  Kidd drove in three runs. Carson Lowder knocked in two.

Chase Orrock, Jacob Baucom, Austin Dayvault and Bryson Bebber had RBIs for Kannapolis (2-7). Eli Hiskey had two hits.
