Rowan County Humane Society hosts Lights of Love
Friday, May 31
Lights of Love, a luminaria display around Salisbury City Lake on Friday (rain date Saturday). Luminaria glow in honor and in memory of loved ones, both of the human and other animal variety, and may be purchased for $3 each at the event.

 

CFA hosts ‘Never Silent’

For the second year CFA has partnered with Salisbury Pride to celebrate Pride Month with an exhibit in our gallery. This year’s theme is “Never Silent.” 50 years ago the
patrons of New York’s Stonewall Inn ended their silence and stood up for themselves.
In this exhibit, artists were asked to speak through their art about issues that face the LGBTQ community. Come join us at CFA for the opening of this exhibit on Sunday from 6-8 p.m.

 

Rowan Arts & Ag Farm Tour 2019

The Rowan Arts & Ag Farm Tour offers a rare chance to see Rowan County farms firsthand. In a unique combination of the county’s rich farm heritage and vibrant arts culture, visitors will learn about local farms and find working artists exhibiting their talent.
Take time to visit with artists during your visit to each farm. You’ll find hand-crafted jewelry, decorative glass, photography, fiber, leather, mixed media, metal works, sculpture, wood, clay, watercolor, drawings, and decorative arts.
This two-day, self-guided tour features 12 notable Rowan County farms and three agricultural stops with artists at each site. Bring your family and friends and enjoy a sneak peek into the talent of the working farmers and artists that make the county a true original.
The farm tour is free and open to the public, educational and entertaining, a chance to get to know some of Rowan County’s 40+ working farmers, an opportunity to purchase fresh-from-the-farm produce, and much more.

Join in Piedmont Choral Society’s annual patriotic fundraiser concerts
Beginning 7 p.m. June 3
CONCORD — Since 2004, more than $35,000 has been raised for local non-profits through PCS’s patriotic concerts. Local singers who wish to participate with the choir in the 2019 patriotic fundraising concerts June 20-23 are welcome to join the group for three rehearsals beginning Monday, June 3 at 7 p.m. at Forest Hill UMC.
