Letter: Use less plastic garbage to make planet healthy
Thank you to Rep. Harry Warren for introducing the bipartisan House Bill 823 to help decrease North Carolina’s dependence on single-use plastics. As he says, “We all live on the same planet.”
Also, thank you to Food Lion, which expects to eliminate plastic bags by 2025. Sadly, a lot of plastic bags will be used during those six years.
Also, a huge thank you to Harris Teeter, which has proactively switched from styrofoam to biodegradable take-out containers at its salad bars. That was a timely and very beneficial decision that has gone unrecognized.
China no longer wants our plastic garbage. Let’s consume less of it and help to keep our planet healthy.
