SALISBURY — A Salisbury man faces felony charges of breaking and entering after a woman reported suspicious behavior behind her home. He’s accused of breaking into at least two vehicles at area businesses within the Towne Creek Commons shopping center.

Salisbury Police charged Jeremy Warren Price, 21, of the 1200 block of North Main St., on Friday with one count of felony breaking and entering a business, one count misdemeanor larceny, two counts of felony breaking and entering a vehicle.

Police initially responded around 5 p.m. to the area of Chick-fil-a and Pizza Hut to what a witness believed was someone trying to break into vehicles there. Police spotted a suspect, who took off running. About an hour later a woman called about a suspicious person behind her home in the 1700 block of Whitney Lane. She said a man had been walking up and down the street earlier and then the man was at her back door.

Police were able to arrest a man identified as Jeremy Price, who had some stolen items in his possession that were taken from vehicles parked at Chick-fil-a and China Buffett.

This is not the first time Price has been accused of breaking into buildings and vehicles. In 2014, a 16-year-old Price was charged with breaking into a storage shed at a Bringle Ferry Road home where he and another teen were said to have taken a mountain bike, attempted to take a Harley Davidson motorcycle, but left a backpack behind. In that same year, he was accused of being outsmarted by a woman whose home he walked into, initially startling her until she convinced him the person he was looking for was actually outside.

In between February and March 2015, a 16-year-old Price was alleged to have broken into a number of vehicles where a handgun, laptop, cellphone and other items were taken. In April 2015, a number of vehicles on Birchwood Drive and Stone Road were broken into by two teens. Authorities said Price was one of those teens.

In August 2016, Price, then 18, was charged with breaking into a Beagle Club Road home after the owner’s son spotted stolen tools on a Facebook sale. Another teen was charged in that incident after investigators set up a meeting with the owner of the items and the “seller,” who turned out to be a 19-year-old girl. She told authorities that she agreed to sell the items for Price.

Price remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond.
