Salisbury-Rowan Church Women United hold annual prayer breakfast

Salisbury Rowan unit of Church Women United held the annual prayer breakfast March 2 at Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church. Rev. Robert Kelly Jr, host pastor gave the opening prayer. Anita Hovis, host church representative and Manie Richardson, chairperson, gave the welcome. Rev. Donna W. Cuthbertson of Smith Grove AME Zion gave the inspiring message based on Luke 18:1-8, entitled “ Just Keep Praying.”Dotty Clement, First Presbyterian, was pianist. Others participating were Phyllis Thomside, St Luke Baptist; Rena Morgan, First Calvary Missionary Baptist; Mary Marlin, Ardis Chapel AME Zion; Lynn Bolick, St Luke’s Episcopal; Brenda Venning, St Luke Baptist; Dora Correll, Ardis Chapel AME Zion; Rev. Martha Richardson, Trinity Wesleyan. In gathering of food, paper products and toiletries were collected for Rowan Helping Ministries.
The Attendance Banner was won by Sills Creek AME Zion. The next Celebration of Church Women United will be May Friendship Day on May 3 at Trinity Presbyterian at 12 noon. The Young Church Women Awards will be presented and the in gathering will be for the Good Shepherd Clinic. All are welcome, call Chairperson Catherine Rivens, 704-642-0721.
