SALISBURY – Bibliophiles, take note — Rowan Public Library will hold its annual spring book sale May 2 through 7. The sale will be in the Stanback Auditorium at RPL Headquarters, located at 201 W. Fisher St. in Salisbury.

From Thursday, May 2, through Saturday, May 4, the sale runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Monday, May 6, the sale runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On May 2, items are $2 or less, on May 3 items are half price. On Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, it’s $1 for one bag.

Selections will be replenished daily as inventory allows. There are more than 200 boxes of books – approximately 5,000 titles – for browsers to work their way through.

“Our May Library Book Sale helps us make room on our shelves for all of the new books the library is receiving,” said Edward Hirst, RPL technical services supervisor.

This is the second RPL Book Sale in 2019; the first was held in January. “Having two library sales a year makes it easier for customers who like to browse instead of having an overwhelming volume of books,” Hirst said.

In addition to reference and nonfiction titles, the book sale also includes adult, young adult and children’s fiction. There will also be a supply of DVDs, books on CD and paperbacks. In the event of a sell-out, the sale will end, and a closing notice will be posted at www.RowanPublicLibrary.org.

Funds raised from the RPL book sale go toward the Rowan County general fund. RPL book sales are separate from the annual Friends of RPL book sale that is held each fall. For more information, call 704-216-8243.
