Pink Sunday at Mt. Zion Missionary
Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1920 Shirley Ave., will observe Pink Sunday at the 11 a.m. service. Pink Sunday promotes breast cancer awareness and education. Usher Day at Jerusalem Baptist
Jerusalem Baptist Church will observe Usher Appreciation Day on Sunday during the 11 a.m. service. Rev. Dr. David Bracken, host pastor, will speak. Music will be provided by the JBC mass Choir. All adult and youth ushers are asked to dress in appropriate attire. The highlight of the program will be the recognition of Usher Of The Year.

Woman’s Day at Third Creek
CLEVELAND — Woman’s Day will be observed on Sunday at Third Creek AME Zion Church, 415 E. Main St. The theme is “A Woman Who Fears the Lord Shall be Praised.” Salisbury Mayor Alvena Heggins will be the speaker at the 11 a.m. service.
Valerie Watkins, from Jerusalem Baptist Church, Spencer, will speak at the 3 p.m. service; with special music by the Echos of Christ of Salisbury. A special presentation will made to the church’s Woman-of-the-Year. Lunch will follow the morning service in the Glenn Grayson Fellowship Hall. Visitors who desire may wear pink attire.

Cedar Grove celebrates 141 years

New schedule at Piedmont UUC
The new Sunday Service schedule for the Salisbury Gathering of the Piedmont Unitarian Universalist Church is now 12:30 p.m. The service this Sunday will focus on the topics of social justice and the struggle for wholeness.

WOODLEAF — Erwin Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 155 Erwin Temple Church Road, will celebrate its 93rd Church Anniversary on Sunday.

Guest speaker will be Rev. Paul I. Brown. He serves as Senior President-Dean School of Theological Center in Atlanta, Ga.

Usher anniversary at Shady Grove

‘Our Song VI’ concert
On Sunday at 4 p.m. in Omwake-Dearborn Chapel on the campus of Catawba College, Our Song VI will be presented by the Catawba Singers, the Catawba Chamber Choir, and the Catawba PopAC Choir. The program is free and open to the public.

F.A.C.T. Event
F.A.C.T. (Families and Communities Together) will have the final session of parenting workshops with a Family Night Out Event on Monday, April 29 at 6:30 p.m. at Soldiers Memorial AME Zion Church, 306 N. Church St. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m.
There are workshops for the entire family: Adults – “Raising Competent, Confident & Resilient Children” with Margaret Stridick from the Terry Hess House & Child Advocacy Center.
Separate sessions for children and youth on the theme “Making Good Choices” with presenters Rev. Angelica Sweat and the community group GenUp.

Purpose Driven Life classes
Purpose Driven Life classes are hosted by In My Father’s House, led by Rev. Roosevelt Jenkins. They are held from 10-11 a.m. on the first and second Thursday of each month, at Brookdale Assisted Living, 2201 Statesville Blvd. The next study dates are May 2 and 9.
