Letter: All can do more to improve environmental footprint

While I commend the community at Salisbury High School for encouraging environmental awareness by building a greenhouse, I am somewhat taken aback by a photo accompanying an article published Thursday (“School hoping good things grow in its new greenhouse”).

In the photo, students are entering the new ecologically friendly structure at their school and one student is walking in with a plastic or styrofoam take-out drink container, complete with what I assume is a plastic straw.

The article concludes with the observation that little changes can make a difference in bettering and beautifying our lives. We all can do better to improve our environmental footprint.
