T.O.P. Prayer Breakfast

Women’s fellowship breakfast at Hall’s Chapel
Hall’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, 611 E. Monroe St., hosts a women’s fellowship prayer breakfast on Saturday at 9 a.m. Cost is $8. Richard L. Johnson is host pastor.

Womens’ Prayer Walk at Jerusalem Baptist
March is Women’s History Month and to honor this event the Women’s Ministry of Jerusalem Baptist Church will host a Womens’ Prayer Walk on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. at the Family Dollar Store in Spencer and concluding at the parking lot of Jerusalem Baptist Church.
Women are requested to wear black bottoms and white tops. Come out as we lift each other up, celebrate women and impact a community. Contact Cynthia Stanfield at 757-667-8760 for more details.
For those unable to walk, the church van will be available throughout the entire route. Water stations will be positioned along the sidewalks in Spencer, East Spencer and Long Street.
All area churches and women’s groups are welcome, free of charge.

Word of Life honors Pastor Starks
Word of Life Family Worship Center continues to recognize and honor the Rev. Dr. Martha Starks 40th pastoral anniversary.

All Male Community Choir
The All Male Community Choir of Statesville will present its annual Spring Concert at Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, at 3 p/m. The choir is known for its “down-home style” gospel singing and has been performing for over 25 years. Host pastor Rev. Perry J. Dye. The event is free and open to the public.

Jubilee Community Choir concert
The Jubilee community Choir will present a concert on Sunday at 5 p.m. at Soldiers Memorial AME Zion Church.
The theme is “Reasons We Sing — From Despair to Hope and Certainty” is based on the journey of African American ancestors.
Featured soloists are Rebecca Stinson singing “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow” and “Just A Closer Walk With Thee” and Teresa Moore-Mitchell with “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands.” Other soloists are Gail Williams and Edith Trueblood.
Narrators are Dr. Derrick Anderson, host pastor, Rev. Lester Smith, Dr. Ethel Bamberg-Revis, Corine Parks and Rev. Donald Anthony.
The choir will be further accompanied by instrumentalist Galvin Crisp, soprano saxophone, I. Jerome Heggins, conga drums, and Phyllis Partee, keyboards.
Kay Wright Norman is music director and principal accompanist.

Holy Week at First UCC
First United Church of Christ, 207 W. Horah St., continues “Walking Through Holy Week,” examining what happened between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. This Sunday, Dr. Barry Sang of Catawba College will lecture on the topic of Wednesday of Holy Week.

Music and Meditation
St. John’s final lunch hour Lenten service of Music and Meditation is Monday from 12:15-12:45 p.m. in the St. John’s Chapel, 200 West Innes St. Special music this week is by Rosemary Kinard, flute and Rob Durocher, piano.

Annual Evangelistic Crusade
pic The Salisbury District of the AME Zion Church will have its Annual Evangelistic Crusade March 25-27. Services begin at 7 p.m. nightly in various communities of the Salisbury District.
Monday: South Iredell AME Zion Church, Troutman, Rev. Bobbie Samuels, pastor;
Tuesday: White Rock AME Zion Church, Granite Quarry, Rev. Thomas Lee, pastor;
Wednesday: Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church, Rev. Robert Kelley, pastor.
The theme for this year’s Crusade is “The Effective Practice of Evangelism.” Rev. Dr. Grant Harrison Jr. is the Presiding Elder of the Salisbury District.
Evangelist for the Three night services is Rev. Dr. Otis T. McMillan, General Officer and Director, Department of Church Growth and Development of the AME Zion Church, Charlotte.
Rev. McMillan holds a bachelor of theology degree, master of theology degree, master of divinity degree and doctor of ministry degree.

Spring revival at Fairview Heights
Fairview Heights Missionary Baptist Church, 704 Old Concord Road, will hold its annual spring revival services Wednesday through Friday, March 27-29 at 7 p.m.
Guest speakers are as follows:
Wednesday, Rev. Timothy Williams, pastor of theYadkin Star Baptist Church of Lexington;
Thursday, Rev. Darryl Scott Jr., pastor of Center grove AME Zion Church of Tobaccoville;

WOW at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist
Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1920 Shirley Ave., will host a Worship on Wednesday (WOW) service at 6 p.m. on March 27. Lenten study continues at Haven Lutheran
Haven Lutheran Church, 207 W. Harrison St. is participating in an ecumenical Lenten Bible Study on Wednesdays during the Lenten season. Denominations participating include Lutheran, Episcopal, Presbyterian, and Methodist.
There will be a light meal served each Wednesday beginning at 6:15 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the church. The services continue each Wednesday through April 10.

Lent at Gloria Dei
Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1908 Statesville Blvd., hosts Lenten season Wednesday meals and services on the theme of “A Time for Tears.”
On March 27, Rev. Perry Bradshaw, retired Methodist pastor, will speak on “I Cried All the Way Home.”

Free community dinner at FUMC-CG
CHINA GROVE — First UMC China Grove, 110 W Church St., hosts a free community dinner Sundays at 4 p.m. followed by praise, worship and Bible study at 4:30 p.m.
