Spring is on its way and I, for one, am ready for better weather and the annual Spring Celebration at Hurley Park!

This year’s celebration will be Sunday, April 7, from 2-4 p.m. at 304 Annandale Ave. in Salisbury. This is a wonderful event to celebrate spring and enjoy time with the family.

This year, we will have many activities to get the entire family excited about being outdoors. To highlight some of the guests, we will have the Salisbury Swing Band, Triple Springs Horse Run, Bubble Circus, Rowan Redbuds Garden Club, Rowan Rose Society, Cooperative Extension, Salisbury Fire Department, Horizons Unlimited, NC Wildlife Commission, NC Forestry, Carolina Artists and the Extension Master Gardeners.

Almost every featured guest will have an interactive component, and all will be informative. We will have free carriage rides, music, an obstacle course, bubble circus, nature trail with identification and, of course, free snacks.

We will also have an Arbor Day celebration and tree planting in the park. These activities are some of the best ways to celebrate Hurley Park and enjoy nature. Hurley Park has over 17 acres of gardens, a pond and paths that total one mile, making it the perfect setting for this fun, family activity.

Last year was one of our largest celebrations, with more than 150 guests. We expect this year to be just as large, and we know that everyone will have just as much fun.

Be sure to add the Spring Celebration to your event calendar, and bring the whole family for the festivities.
