Join the Rose Society for a pruning
8 a.m. Saturday • rain date March 23
The Rowan Rose Society will be pruning roses at the Triangle Rose Garden in front of Summersett Funeral Home on West Innes Street on Saturday. The event will last approximately two hours.
A Star Rose Double Pink Knock-Out will be given away in a drawing for visitors or attendees, and refreshments will be offered.

Volunteer at the 31st Annual VIP Miniature Golf Tournament
10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. April 13
The Rowan County Parks and Rec Department’s Therapeutic Recreation Division’s 31st annual Statewide Visually Impaired Miniature Golf Tournament will be held at Dan Nicholas Park’s two ADA compliant miniature courses, at 6800 Bringle Ferry Road.
Volunteers are needed as sighted guides to assist participants with navigating the course for play. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
Lunch is free for volunteers. Spectators, family, friends and staff may purchase lunch for $5.
Volunteer check-in is at 8:15 a.m. that morning at Shelter 4.

Rowan Arts & Ag Farm Tour call for artists
Saturday -Sunday June 1-2
The second annual Rowan Arts & Ag Farm Tour is seeking talented artisans and musicians at each of the 14 farms located around the county.

This is a free event, with no space fee. Participants are responsible for their own tables, chairs, tents, supplies, transactions, etc.
Art and craft exhibitors may show off their crafting skills and talents but everything must be hand crafted.
For culinary artists who make jams and relishes, cookies and cakes, all prepared foods must meet the requirements for resale.
Plan to show or tell how your products are made.
Visual and preforming artists are also welcome.
Have business cards or flyers with your contact information. You will be able to sell your products but most of all this will be more of a networking, contact making, meet the community event.

“Art of the Wild” is an exhibit and fundraiser, a collaboration between Mooresville Arts and Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists.
Proceeds from sales of donated and sold artwork will benefit the mission of both organizations.
