SALISBURY — A man was shot in the left shoulder during a fight just after midnight Friday in the parking lot at 110 Lee Street in downtown Salisbury.
The Salisbury Police Department responded to a call at 12:05 a.m. Friday. Jacob Levi Sifford, 27, told officers that he was sitting inside his car in the parking lot behind the business at 127 E. Innes St.
Sifford said a black man wearing black clothing approached his vehicle with a handgun.
Sifford got out of the vehicle, a fight ensued and he was shot in the left shoulder, he told police.
The suspect ran down an alleyway not far from East Fisher Street, he said.
Sifford said he had been inside the Fish Bowl singing karaoke before the incident.
He went to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. His injuries were not life-threatening, authorities said.
