SALISBURY — Salisbury police charged a local man with a 2017 armed robbery at a game-of-skill business.

Preston Karl Everhart, 29, of the 500 block of North Ellis Street, was charged Friday with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Sometime before 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 2, 2017, a man forced his way into the Fun Zone Arcade, 1945 West Jake Alexander Blvd., according to the Salisbury Police Department. He threatened two employees and took money from two cash registers. The robber ran from the business on foot toward Clancy Hills apartment complex.

Police Lt. Greg Beam said detectives received some good leads through a photo lineup and word of mouth.

Everhart was released from the Rowan County Detention under a $10,000 secured bond.
