LANDIS — A month after Town Manager Reed Linn and Financial Officer Ginger Gibson resigned in the wake of allegations of embezzlement, the Board of Aldermen will meet Monday.

It will be the first regularly scheduled meeting since the resignations were announced.

Last month, the State Bureau of Investigation announced Linn, Gibson and an unnamed third person were subjects in an embezzlement probe. The town appointed Police Chief Kenny Isenhour to serve as interim town manager at an emergency meeting on Feb. 12. Deputy Police Chief Roger Hosey is the interim finance officer.

Monday’s agenda says the board and staff will not able to discuss the ongoing investigation and ask for residents’ patience.

At February’s Board of Aldermen meeting, the meeting had a standing-room-only crowd and a dozen or more others outside Town Hall listening in. Monday’s meeting will be at town hall despite requests to move the meeting to a bigger location.

The board will hear a presentation from Gary Flowers concerning the Sewer Asset and Inventory Assessment grant project.

The aldermen will consider appointing an alternate member to the ElectriCities’ North Carolina Municipal Power Agency No. 1 board of commissioners.

Aldermen will also consider adopting a proclamation declaring March as American Legion Centennial Month to be presented to Martha Corriher and Commander Tim Nason.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Town of Landis, 312 S. Main St.
