Original print exhibition and sale from The Holtzman Collection
3-6 p.m. March 2
Fine Frame Gallery hosts an a collection of original prints created by artists from all over the world. The prints date between the 1940s to approximately 1990s.
The artworks were created through the traditional process of printmaking. Various printmaking techniques will be represented, such as woodcut, linocut, engraving, etching, lithography, monotype, screen printing, and mezzotint.
The opening reception begins at 3 p.m. Saturday. Light snacks and refreshments will be served.
There will be a printmaking demo and commentary upstairs with Jesse Hinson at 4:30 p.m.

Call for artists
Deadline April 30
Waterworks Visual Arts Center in partnership with Carolina Bohemian Jam will present a special juried group exhibition in celebration of Woodstock’s golden anniversary, Carolina Bohemian Jam: The Ultimate Hippie Tribute. There is no fee to enter.
The exhibition will take place at the Rowan County Fairgrounds, Aug. 15-18. Selected artists will have a second opportunity to exhibit at WVAC following the festival, Sept. 7-Feb. 1, 2020.
Participants must be at least 18 years old. Work must be original and inspired by Woodstock—Love, Peace & Music. The Carolina Bohemian Jam will feature live music on multiple stages with tribute bands from the 1960s and 1970s, as well as local musicians. Arts and craft vendors will be on site along with a special juried art exhibition.

Library card design contest for new West Branch
CLEVELAND — Rowan Public Library’s West Branch Library Card Design Contest invites artists of all ages and experience levels to submit design entries by March 25.
Artwork can be created traditionally with artistic instruments or computer generated software. Anyone is welcome to submit a design that showcases the uniqueness of the west Rowan community. The new branch will be located at 107 School St., the site of the former Cleveland Elementary School Media Center.
One entry per person. Contest rules, release forms, and design templates are available at any library branch or at www.rowanpubliclibrary.org
