Thieves break into vehicles at Matika Villa mobile home park

SALISBURY — Residents’ vehicles were broken into and ransacked at Matika Villa mobile home park, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

Police officials said 27 vehicles were involved. All of them were unlocked.

The break-ins occurred about 3 a.m. Friday in the 1200 block of Rachel Lane, Audrey Lane and Matika Lane.

One resident said he has security-camera video of someone wearing a white hooded sweater who was pulling the door handles on his car. Police officers went door-to-door to speak with residents. One man said his wife’s ring valued at $1,000 was taken; another resident said $60 in cash was taken.

Police searched the area but did not find a suspect.
