One of Wells Fargo’s options for its now-vacant building should be to tear it down and use the loss for taxes.

The landowner could either donate the land to the city or work out a long-term land lease with the city. Salisbury could then use the spot for a three-story or more parking deck.

It should be built as Food Lion did with its office building, making it strong and supported enough to hold more levels as needed.

Even better, build as many decks now as projected for the future.

The city could use grants to help with costs and financing. Don’t overlook this opportunity for Salisbury to obtain parking that is sorely needed to help revitalize our downtown.
