Rowan IDEA Center to hold workshop for entrepreneurs

The Rowan IDEA Center will host Business Model Canvas workshops to help entrepreneurs create a business plan from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at City Tavern, 113 E. Fisher St.

The monthly session will include discussion of a business model, the canvas, an empathy map and value proposition.

Future IDEA Center sessions include:

• Market assessment, March 12.

• Entrepreneurial marketing, April 9.

• The 4 P’s: Price, Product, Placement and Promotion, May 14.

• Entrepreneurial finance, June 11.

Youth Substance Use Prevention Rowan to sponsor Monday’s Business After Hours

Youth Substance Use Prevention Rowan will sponsor this month’s Business After Hours on Monday.

YSUP will unveil its “Hidden in Plain Sight” mock bedroom designed to educate people about the signs of substance abuse.

Beer, wine, refreshments and door prizes will be available.

Business After Hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Salisbury Elks Lodge, 508 S. Main St.

Accordius Health Care to host job fair

Accordius Health Care will have a job fair on Feb. 20.

Potential employees will be able to tour the facility, eat lunch, meet the staff and interview for open positions in nursing and maintenance.

The job fair will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 20 at 635 Statesville Blvd.

Better Business Bureau gives tips for purchasing NBA All Star tickets

The Better Business Bureau is warning fans about scammers when buying tickets to the NBA All Star Game in Charlotte next weekend.

The bureau advises fans to purchase tickets from the venue; research the seller or broker; know the refund policy; use payment methods that have protection; be wary of advertisements; and verify the tickets.

Last year, the Better Business Bureau received more than 300 reports on BBB Scam Tracker about ticket scams related to sports, concerts, theater and other venues.
