Signing off: Wells Fargo signs come down

Workers remove signs from the Wells Fargo building in downtown Salisbury on Thursday.

The bank closed its South Main Street branch Wednesday after seeing a decrease in customer traffic. The building had long been home to Wachovia Bank, but that changed after
a government-forced sale to avoid the failure of Wachovia. The bank held a grand opening in 2011 after the change. It’s unclear what will fill the former bank building. Wells Fargo told the Post it owns the building and that it’s considering its options.
