Hood Theological Seminary is partnering with Cabarrus Health Alliance to offer a free, nine-week course designed for individuals, clergy and other church leaders to encourage healthy living for themselves, their families and their congregations.

Led by Cabarrus Health Alliance professionals, the course will be offered on two schedule options: 9:30-10:45 a.m. Thursdays or 8:45-10 a.m. Saturdays, Feb. 28-May 4.

Salisbury and Rowan County clergy, lay leaders and anyone else as well as Hood students are encouraged to attend.

The classes will help participants transform their physical, mental and spiritual health by learning to plan, shop for, and prepare healthy meals for their families; discover delicious, healthy, family-friendly recipes; explore simple ways to be physically active; talk about the connections among food, physical activity and faith; and learn about community resources to support healthful living.

The course is made possible by a grant from the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust for Healthy Partnerships. It is free and open to the public.
