Blotter: Salisbury pair charged with drug offenses after traffic stop

SALISBURY — Salisbury police charged two people with drug possession Saturday after officers found methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana in their vehicle, officials said.

Chad Eugene Linker, 39, was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon; misdemeanor simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance; felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance; misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia; and felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

Ashley Jo Weaver, 31, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance Schedule III; felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance Schedule I; misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia; and felony possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police said the brake lights on the vehicle were not working properly. The officer who stopped them suspected drug activity and called in a K-9 unit to search the vehicle. Police seized a digital scale, a syringe, a revolver, 0.1 gram of marijuana, 10 grams of meth, and 0.1 gram of cocaine.

Linker remains in the Rowan County jail under a $27,500 secured bond. Weaver remains in the jail under a $15,000 secured bond.

• A man reported on Friday reported a break-in on Jan. 21 in the 300 block of Apple Road.

• A man reported a burglary Saturday in the 1800 block of Campbell Road, Woodleaf.

• A woman reported a burglary Saturday in the 1200 block of Circle Drive, China Grove.

• A woman reported a burglary Saturday in the 100 block of Roy Miller Loop.

• A man reported Sunday that someone stole items from his vehicle in the 6800 block of Bringle Ferry Road.

• A man reported a burglary Sunday in the 100 block of Roy Miller Loop.

• Chad Thomas Pressley, 32, was charged Friday with misdemeanor simple assault in the 17000 block of Mooresville Road, Mooresville.

• Tyler Amier Spencer Nichols, 19, was charged Friday with felony possession of a controlled substance at the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office.
