Military merit: Local graduates complete training

Air Force Airman Alana M. Yow graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.

Yow completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Yow is the daughter of Thomas J. and Amy M. Yow of Mount Ulla and sister of Marissa C. Yow of Mount Ulla and Tiffany M. Turnner of Salisbury.

She is a 2018 graduate of West Rowan High School.

Taylor completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Taylor is the son of Philip and Hillary Taylor of Salisbury. He is the husband of Hope Taylor of Salisbury.

The airman is a 2017 graduate of West Rowan High School.
