SALISBURY — The Salisbury Police Department is investigating a derogatory note that was left on the vehicle of a transgender woman.
The 48-year-old woman reported Tuesday that her vehicle was parked at Woodleaf Lanes, 1811 W. Jake Alexander Blvd., between 6:25 and 10:30 p.m. Monday.
Someone bent the windshield wiper and left the note tucked into the door handle. The handwritten note also contained drawn images.
Officials would not say what was written on the note.
Police are investigating the incident as a hate crime.
