Armed suspect robs Woodleaf BP
WOODLEAF — A man walked into a Woodleaf convenience store armed with a shotgun about 9:15 p.m. Saturday and walked out with cash, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
The man is believed to be between 20 and 30 years old. He jumped over the counter, grabbed a nearby plastic bag and demanded the clerk put money into it.
He carried an older-style shotgun and was wearing a blue scarf over his face and a jacket with a hood. He also wore a straw-type hat. The cashier estimated he was about 5 foot 9 inches tall and weighed 180 pounds.
The clerk said the suspect was a white man with brown eyes.
