Letter: What won’t we do for a dollar?
Published 7:24 pm Wednesday, January 2, 2019
My name is money, also known as cashflow, greenback, skins and the all-mighty dollar. I’d like to tell you about me.
I would like to start with my influence on people and the things they will do or have done for my sake. To name a few, people have lied, stolen, cheated and killed all in the name of the dollar bill. People do all of this without regard for the affect on anyone else.
My influence seems to be of greater value than human life. There is no professional title above my influcene.
I’m a factor in all decision from the White House to the courthouse and from your health care provider to the hospital. It all depends on how much of me you’ve got.
My influence decides where you sleep and the food you eat. It is said that I’m the root of all evil because of my influence over people, whether its power, prestige, fame or greed. It’s me they seek to fulfill that need. What won’t you do to someone else for me?
I’m just an old dollar.
