Letter: Don’t rush to tear down buildings

I suggest that we consider vocational education for the high schools and expand it to the community.

We are a “Renewal School District.” We can do what is needed. Where is the law that says a 25-year-old cannot go back to school?

We need a better prepared workforce. We need more income. We need an expanded tax base.

We are on Interstate 85, with access, utilities  and available property for development. We could choose between the business prospects if we had the necessary work force.

There are people who need jobs.

I am sure there are challenges. What doesn’t have challenges worth having or doing? Confucius said, “Man who say it cannot be done should not interrupt man doing it.”

I am also sure the community could come up with suggestions, given adequate time. Do not rush to close and tear down school buildings.
