Letter: School uniforms seem to be unneccesary

I wanted to write to today to inform the public of an issue that I think is necessary to discuss.

I wanted to ask why we have uniforms in our schools. I understand that it helps teachers know what grade we’re in and how to keep up with us, but teachers should know already.

Uniforms are just more money for our parents to pay. It’s more money going into school. I understand that the school and stores need money, but our parents have to buy normal clothes and school clothes at the same time as everything else — groceries, bills and a lot of other things.

I just think that uniforms aren’t something that we really need. I think they’re just something people want us to wear. They are nonsense.
